Stephanie G's
Throughout the entire month of January, Stephanie is hosting a "Design and Redesign Event," during which she and her staff will create something updated and new with customers' jewelry. "People's taste can change. We will be offering 20 percent off on all the mountings and any design work that we do," Stephanie said. "Most of what we do here is design work. We don't just sell out of the cases. We tell our customers to look in their jewelry boxes because all of those diamonds, even those tiny ones, are wonderful to use in the pave and antique settings," she explained. "We take people's diamonds from tired jewelry and yellow-gold tennis bracelets and we update them." The store is beautiful and set up in a way that invites customers in. The staff is warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the product lines, and Stephanie is proud of them. "I have taught them repair work, product knowledge, mechanics of designing jewelry, etc. They all have a lot of knowledge and are very professional," she said. There are also many samples of jewelry styles that customers can try on to help them understand all that Stephanie can do to transform a piece of jewelry that needs a change or update. "I do a variation of at least six different designs for a three-stone mounted ring," she said. "I set it in a way that will truly enhance the stones. I can work with any style and taste as well as work with any budget. You don't have to break the bank to end up with a beautiful piece of custom jewelry. We can figure out ways to work within a price range to satisfy our clients." Stephanie G's also carries a wide array of jewelry, with a selection of bridal mountings, engagement rings and wedding bands. There are fun fashion pieces, sterling, gemstones, floating diamonds, jewelry by Martin Flyer and the Pandora line. There are unique and colored gemstones like green amethyst and green, orange and yellow garnet. Stephanie has a degree in gemology and went to the Gemological Institute of America. She is also a Certified Gemologist Appraiser and has furthered her education in appraising and grading diamonds through the American Gem Society. There is a microscope on the counter so that before any diamonds are left at Stephanie G's, the stones are mapped so that customers can actually identify them. This educates the customers and helps them feel comfortable leaving their stones there. Two times a year Stephanie G's holds a Men's Night and Ladies' Night, when customers have an opportunity to buy off a wish list with special pricing and relax in the store while enjoying drinks and food while looking for something special for a loved one. "Jewelry is about happiness, tradition and timelessness," Stephanie said. "'Custom' sounds expensive but it doesn't have to be. It's about using what you have." Stephanie G's is located at 77 Main Street in Hopkinton. The hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The website is at www.stephaniegjewelers.com .
