Roland G. Nourse, 83 Northborough - Roland G. Nourse, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester following a short illness. He leaves his wife, Edna (Weinert) Nourse; his son, Brian Nourse and his wife, Terri; his daughter, Lynne Ferro and her husband, Thomas; his siblings, David Nourse, Wesley Nourse and Dorothy West; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Westborough, the son of Leon and Louise ( Johnson) Nourse, he was a 1942 graduate of Westborough High School and had been a resident of Northborough for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the European Theatre in England, Belgium and France. He was a member of the 383rd Squadron 364 Fighter Group in England. Mr. Nourse worked as a supervisor in shipping and receiving at Bay State Abrasives in Westborough for many years. He enjoyed flying Piper Cubs and Cessna 150s at the former Westborough Airport, flying R.C. planes and, years ago, camping. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 from Hays Funeral Home of Northborough, with burial at Howard Street Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Mass.
