Presidential primary election approaching
By Melissa Muntz Community Reporter

Region - With caucus season in full swing, voters are waiting for the chance to have their say in who will make it to the upcoming presidential election. They'll get their chance by voting in the presidential primary, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 5.

Residents who are registered in a specific political party will only be allowed to vote for candidates within their party; however independent voters will be allowed to vote in any party they wish without changing their independent status.

People who would like to vote in the upcoming presidential primary must register to do so at their Town Clerk's office by Wednesday Jan. 16.

To vote by absentee ballot, apply with the Town Clerk's office no later than noon Monday Feb. 4. All completed absentee ballots must be submitted by the time the polls close Feb. 5.
