Ruth E. Eaton, 68

Marlborough - Ruth E. (Greaves) Eaton, 68, formerly of Waltham and Watertown, died at home Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 surrounded by family, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 46 years, Wayne Edward Eaton Jr.; her children and their spouses, Cheryl Eaton, Joyce and Greg Gravel, Scott Eaton, and Wayne and Susan Eaton; her sisters, Barbara McElman and her husband, Donald, and Claire Casperson and her husband, Maurice; her grandchildren, Ashley Tessier, Jessica Tessier, Allison Eaton, Brian Eaton, Nick Gravel, Jeff ery Eaton, Jake Eaton and Jeremy Eaton; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Earle; her brother-in-law, Mel Eaton and his wife, Janice; and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Born in Cambridge, the daughter of Gordon and Pauline (Deveney) Greaves, she graduated from Waltham High School in 1953 and had lived in Marlborough for the past 43 years.

Mrs. Eaton was a hand assembler for more than 15 years at the R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. of Hudson, retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the First Church in Marlborough (Congregational) and very active in the Women's Fellowship, where she was head of hospitality. She also was a member of Mizpah No. 29 OES. She enjoyed cooking and helping other people, but most of all, she loved her family.

Funeral services were held Dec. 31 from First Church in Marlborough, with burial to be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery. The John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to either the Gynecological Research Fund at Mass General Hospital, 55 Fruit St. - Yawkey 9E, Boston, MA 02114 or to the Memorial Fund at First Church in Marlborough (Congregational), 37 High St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
