David W. Rudd, 51

Northborough - David W. Rudd, 51, of Lincoln Street, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester following a struggle with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS).

He leaves his wife of 14 years, Paula (Greska) Rudd; his daughter, Lacey Rudd; his siblings, Tom Rudd, Steve Rudd, Luke Rudd, Maryann Byrum, Peggy Worley and Pat Rodenborn; and nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Luther and Willie-Belle (Atkins) Rudd, he graduated from Gibbs High School in Knoxville in 1975.

Mr. Rudd was employed as a press operator at MacNeill Engineering Company in Marlborough for nine years

He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed history, had a passion for animals and will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

A memorial service was held Jan. 10 from the New Life Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Marlborough. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Lacy Rudd Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of America, 31 West Main St., Northborough, MA 01532.
