Samuel W. Harbold II, 66
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Judith Harbold; his daughters, Lynda Harbold Schwartz and Karen Harbold English; his sons-in-law, John Schwartz and Peter English; and his grandchildren, Rachel, Nicole, Laura and Jacob. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Norbeck; her husband, Dean; and their children, Nancy and Wayne, as well as his mother-in-law, Jennie Crandall, and his brother-inlaw, Steven Crandall and his wife, Pamela. Born and raised in York, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Albert Harbold and Helene (Neil) Harbold. Mr. Harbold, a long-standing and active Mason, was a member of the Ivy Lodge #397 and Cashmere Grotto in Elmira, N.Y. and a member and lodge organist of the United Brethren Lodge in Marlborough. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Worcester and a member of the Aleppo Temple Shriners, where he played for many years in the Shrine band. He was a member of both the Worcester County and Metro West Shrine Clubs and a past President of the Northborough Acacia Club. After retiring from Digital Equipment Corporation, he enjoyed sharing his music, making videos of his travels around the continent, hiking, camping and playing golf. He was active in the church throughout his life and served as a preaching deacon in New York. He was sustained by his faith during his illness. Funeral services were held Jan. 13 from Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Shrewsbury. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Overlook VNA and Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507. |
