Mary E.F. McGoldrick, 80 Marlborough - Mary Eileen Frances (Duff y) McGoldrick, 80, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at UMass Memorial in Worcester from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of Michael McGoldrick, who died in 2006. She leaves her children and spouses, Terry and Donna McGoldrick, Maureen and Bill Hickie, Sheila and Paul Suff redini, Tricia and Tom Kelly, Sean and Christine McGoldrick, and Colleen and Stan Meader; her sister and best friend, Ruth "Rui" Duffy; her grandchildren, Caitlin McGoldrick, Colin McGoldrick, Allison Robinson, Erin Gaff ny, Kristen Hickie, Bill Hickie, Colleen Kelly, Meaghan Kelly, Shannon Kelly, Samantha Meader, Jamie Meader and Nolan Meader; her great-grandchildren, Matt and Alexis Robinson (and she was excited about the arrival of baby Gaffny); her step-granddaughters, Michelle Shea and Cheryl Gaba; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Born in Cambridge, the daughter of Terrance and Marion (Broderick) Duffy, she was a graduate of St. John's High School in Cambridge and Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. McGoldrick, a registered nurse for many years, worked in pediatrics, general medicine and geriatrics at Simms Hospital and Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester before retiring. She had also volunteered at St. Mary's School in Clinton for several years, reading with the students and assisting the teachers. An avid sports fan, she attended most of her grandchildren's sporting events and supported the Red Sox, Bruins and any team coached by Bill Parcells. A funeral mass was celebrated Jan. 12, her 81st birthday, from St. Matthias Church in Marlborough, with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
