Artist works with Shrewsbury High students

Shrewsbury - Local artist and children's book illustrator Ralph Masiello checks out some of the drawings Shrewsbury High School students Daniel Persiantsev, Alison Cheon, Brittany Filippone, Brooke Carney and Sue D'Alessandro made during his presentation Dec. 19. Masiello began the day presenting to a large group of students and then worked with art classes throughout the day. His classroom work with smaller groups was tailored to their specific type of art class, with a common theme of discussing types of things the students can do with their artwork, as well as leading the students through some drawing techniques. The visit was part of the Visiting Artist Program and was funded through a grant by the Alumni Association.
