Assabet Valley Regional hosts 'Mr. Assabet Valley' contest

PHOTOS/LOUIS DEFELIPPI Marlborough - Cesar Rodriguez and Paula Leocadio arrive early to get front row seats to cheer on their favorite at the third annual Mr. Assabet Valley contest Jan. 11 at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. The contest included talent, bathing suit and formal wear competitions. Andrew Cefalu gave his escort Allie Latina a bouquet of roses during the formal wear and "best line" portion of the contest. Freshman Anthony Wassel struts across the stage in his finest full beach regalia. To the delight of the audience, the bathing suit portion of the contest included some quick changes, muscle man poses and a variety of beach attire. Also a big hit was Wassel's stand-up comedy routine. Andrew Cefalu moves to the podium right after his "chipmunk dance" to briefly join emcees Breanna Stanley and Dan Kissane. Closing out the evening, last year's Mr. Assabet Valley, junior Chris Tisdell, passed on the crown to the new audience-elected 2008 champion, junior Alex Moore.
