Scholarship fund seeking contributions

Southborough - Our Town scholarship fund awards are dependent on voluntary donations by Southborough townspeople. Donations can be included with quarterly property tax bills, by mailing donations directly to the town treasurer, and by making "spare change" donations in canisters located at various retail establishments around town. Corporate sponsorships are also accepted. All donations are welcome at anytime and are tax deductible.

Since 1988, when the first scholarships were awarded, 108 Southborough students have been awarded a total of $110,200.

The town scholarship is available to all Southborough residents based on merit and need. All students bound for college or in college are eligible. Applications are available after Friday Feb. 1 at the Southborough Library and Town House as well as in the guidance offices of area public and private schools. All awards are distributed in June.

To make a contribution, send a check payable to the Town of Southborough to Town of Southborough, 17 Common St., Southborough, MA. Include "Scholarship Fund" on the envelope and on the check.
