Southborough - "The best thing that has happened to us this past year is the diamond line we are carrying called 'Hearts on Fire,'" Southborough Jewelers owner Jamie Peghiny said. "It's the 'World's Most Perfectly Cut Diamond.' We have loose diamonds as well as those that are set into rings, necklaces and earrings. It's a premium diamond that we are very excited and proud to be off ering to our customers. 'Hearts on Fire' really sets us apart."

Jamie and his wife, Sandi Hammond, own Southborough Jewelers and are thrilled with the success of the store, which has been at 162 Cordaville Road (Route 85) for seven years. In addition to carrying beautiful jewelry, the store offers its customers full repair service and some custom work. Sizing, polishing and cleaning can also be done. Jamie does some of the goldsmith work himself.

Southborough Jewelers also carries Pandora, Ed Levin, Lorenzo and Andrea Candela.

"Pandora continues to be a bestseller for us. It's a bracelet that you build charm by charm and no two are alike," Jamie said. "The bracelet is personalized for each woman. We offer seasonal pieces as well as their newest designs and have an terrific selection."

Ed Levin is a line of handmade sterling silver and gold and is made in New York state. The Lorenzo line is sterling silver with 18k accents and colored gemstones. Andrea Candela makes jewelry with sterling, gold and diamonds.

In addition, local artist Betsy Frost has her handmade sterling silver jewelry featured at Southborough Jewelers. Her jewelry sold very well during the holiday season and many of her new designs are on the way.

The store also carries gold and colored stone jewelry, Citizen watches, and fun fashion watches that are reasonably priced. Customers can register on a "Wish List" to make gift giving easier.

The store recently closed for 10 days for remodeling. The walls and showcases were painted, the Internet and phone systems were upgraded, a new website was launched, and more lighting was installed. All of these improvements help to showcase the beautiful jewelry the store has to offer.

Jamie and Sandi continue to provide their customers with beautiful jewelry in a friendly, warm and professional environment. Everyone at Southborough Jewelers makes sure that the customers' questions are answered and they are given exceptional service.

"This line of work can be really satisfying," Jamie said. "It's not as easy as we thought it would be and at the end of each day, we are both pretty tired. However, we're doing a good job and we're keeping our customers happy."
