The proclamation commemorates Heart Month by urging residents to wear red to increase awareness of heart disease and to empower women to reduce their risks of getting heart disease, the leading cause of death of women.
In addition, the after-dark building illumination of the Walker Building and City Hall has been changed to red for the month.
