Hudson - Six guests from various colleges were invited to Hudson High School Jan. 30 to participate in a guest speaker day for students involved in the Communications Media and Arts (CMA) cluster.

The cluster program is an opportunity for students to participate weekly in student initiated special interest groups. Larissa Franklin, who was part of the Leadership Cluster responsible for organizing the guest speaker day, said that the students in the group thought that this event would be informative.

School to Student Coordinator Gail Lamere said the program has been held for the last three years, but in lieu of bringing in professionals as they have done in the past, the students opted to bring in school representatives.

"We invited [guests from] schools like the Boston Architectural Center, Boston Conservatory and Mass. College of Arts," she said, "because the students in the CMA cluster are students who have an interest, hobby or career aspirations in the communications, visual arts or music."

Students were captivated by the PowerPoint presentation followed by photograph and mixed media demonstrations, and a question-and-answer session. Bill Chenaille, from the Digital Imaging Arts program at Boston University, outlined careers in digital media, film, photography, game developing and graphic design.
