Democratic party chair to speak in Westborough

Westborough - John Walsh, chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, will be the guest speaker at a Democratic regional meeting in Westborough. The meeting will be held Tuesday Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Room at Tatnuck Booksellers at 8 Lyman St. in Westborough.

In addition to Walsh, Carolyn Dykema, candidate for state representative, will also speak. The forum is one of a series of events sponsored by the Middlesex and Worcester Democratic Coalition. The event is hosted by the Westborough Democratic Town Committee.

"We're thrilled that John Walsh is coming to Westborough," said Kate Donaghue, chair of the Westborough Democratic Committee. "We would love to have Democrats who haven't been involved in the past come join us."

Preceding the forum, Westborough Democrats will meet and caucus to elect delegates to the State Convention. There will be a brief business meeting of the Westborough Democratic Town Committee at 7 p.m., followed by a caucus to elect delegates at 7:10 p.m.

The convention will be held Saturday June 7 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. At that time, Democrats from across the state will gather to endorse candidates for the office of U.S. Senator. The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Westborough.
