Resor to not run for re-election

Region - State Sen. Pamela P. Resor, D-Acton, has announced that she will not seek re-election this fall after 19 years of service in the Massachusetts State Legislature. Resor has made the decision not to pursue another term after her current term expires in January 2009.

After serving on the local Board of Health and then as a selectman, Resor was elected in 1990 as the state representative for the 14th Middlesex District. She served as a state representative for nine years before running for the State Senate.

Resor is currently the chair of the Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture. She also serves on the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Children and Families, Committee on Education, Committee on Tourism Arts and Cultural Development, and Committee on Labor and Workforce Development.
