Robert J. Lafleur, 79

Marlborough - Robert J. Lafleur, 79, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at Bolton Manor Nursing Home in Marlborough after a lengthy illness.

He leaves his wife of 17 years, Joanne (Delaney) Lafleur; his brother, Richard Lafleur and his wife, Carol; and his sisters, Carol Daley and her husband, Jim, and Susan Blair.

Born in Marlborough, the son of Adonis and Mary (Barry) Lafleur, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Marlborough High School in 1945 and from Coyne Electric School of Boston in 1953. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, reaching the rank of sergeant first class.

Mr. Lafleur was a master electrician and worked at Dennison for many years before retiring in 1990 as assistant plant manager. Previously, he had worked 29 years at Mitre Corp. in Burlington.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and a former longtime member of the Marlborough Country Club. He also was a former member of the Marlborough V.F.W. and a social member of the ITAM War Veterans Post 45 of Marlborough.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
