Avalon at Shrewsbury Hills moves forward The board's approval comes after a months-long process of hammering out specifics of design, materials and community relations between AvalonBay and the Worcester Business Development Center, which is developing CenTech Boulevard. The 440-unit mixed-income housing development comes with a $3.93 million mitigation package and will generate about $584,000 in tax revenue for the town annually. Currently, 6.5 percent of Shrewsbury housing is considered affordable, but the completion of the Avalon development will bring the town to the statemandated 10 percent. |
