Augustus will not seek third term

Region - State Sen. Edward M. Augustus Jr., D-Worcester, has announced his decision not to seek a third term in the Massachusetts Senate. Augustus is in his second term representing the 2nd Worcester District, which includes Shrewsbury, Grafton, Auburn, Leicester, Millbury and Upton, as well as portions of Worcester.

Augustus said he decided over the past holiday season to forgo a re-election campaign in order to pursue other professional interests.
