Recreation programs include Red Sox trip Northborough - Due to the success of its fall trip to Buffalo, N.Y., to watch the New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills, and the popularity of its annual holiday shopping trip to New York City, the Recreation Department has scheduled three spring bus trips. Join members of the Recreation Department Saturday March 22 on a trip to Foxwoods Resort and Casino. The bus will leave Melican Middle School at 2 p.m. and return to the school at 10:30 p.m. Cost of the trip is $30 per person and includes a coupon for $14.68 off the dinner buffet and a Lucky Seven Keno coupon worth $20. On Saturday May 17, take a trip to Boston for a Duck Tour, where you will be aboard the same rolling duck boats that were used in victory parades for the 2004 and 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox and 2005 Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. The bus bound for Boston will leave Melican Middle School at 9 a.m. and return to the school at 5:30 p.m. Cost of the trip is $79 per person and includes the tour, a visit to Boston Common and lunch at No Name Restaurant on Boston Harbor. Director Allison Lane hit a home run with the final trip of the season: an overnight excursion to Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia to watch the Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles. The trip will begin Friday May 30 with a 7 a.m. departure from Melican Middle School and end with a return to the school at 7 p.m. Sunday June 1. In between you'll watch the Sox take on the Orioles, visit Washington for a day of sightseeing that will include the National Air and Space Museum, while staying at a Hilton Hotel located in McLean, Va.
