While Lowe prevailed in this battle for the puck with Long, Long assisted on two goals later in the game, won by the Mountaineers, 4-0. The Aztecs, who were seeded 12th in the tournament, finished their season with a 10-6-5 record. Wachusett, seeded fifth in the tournament, improved to 12-7-2 and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the tournament, where it defeated fourth-seeded Fitchburg, 6-2, March 3.
