Boy Scout putting together Historical Society exhibit

Shrewsbury - Troop 158's Boy Scout Carter Stevens is putting together an exhibit about scouting in Shrewsbury that will open at the Shrewsbury Historical Society in late spring. Stevens is currently seeking scout-related items and photographs to be loaned for inclusion in the exhibit. He would like members of the community to contact him about whatever treasure they may have.

Scouting has been part of Shrewsbury's history since the organization's inception in the United States in 1912, and Carter hopes to document some of that history. Items such as carved pieces, plaques, Cub Scout Pinewood Derby cars from previous generations, and photographs of scout activities are needed. All photos will be scanned and returned, and the objects will be held at the museum until the exhibit has concluded.

The community service project will be part of Stevens's work to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

There will be a grand opening for the exhibit, which will be on display at the Historical Society's museum throughout the spring.

Those with items or photographs to be loaned can contact Carter Stevens at csstevens@townisp.com or 508-845-7730.
