Region - Hudson High junior goalie Derek Vasselin has his eyes trained on the puck as well as the stick of Shrewsbury High sophomore forward Clark Dumart during the Hawks' Central Mass. Division 3 quarterfinal-round win over the Colonials, 3-0. Also involved in the play are Hudson junior defenseman Will Murphy (second from right), Hudson sophomore forward Dan Brun (center, No. 3), Hudson junior defenseman Jeff Derby (left, No. 19) and Shrewsbury sophomore forward Kevin Dufault.

Hudson, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, advanced to the Central Mass. Division 3 championship game, where it lost 5-3 to Gardner, despite a threegoal effort from senior captain Jon Gould. Shrewsbury, which was the No. 6 seed in the tournament, finished its season 12-5-5.
