John P. Duca, 92 Marlborough - John P. Duca, 92, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at UMass Memorial Healthcare - Marlborough Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Louise (Martino) Duca, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Marlborough, the son of Leonardo and Grace (DiMateo) Duca, he was a lifelong resident of Marlborough. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Tunisia, Sicily, Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, southern France and Rhineland and reaching the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Duca was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Marlborough for over 38 years, retiring in the 1980s. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, as well as a member of the Letter Carriers Union and the C.O.F. He was also life member of American Legion Post 132 of Marlborough. A funeral mass was celebrated March 17 from the Immaculate Conception Church, with burial at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. The John P. Rowe Funeral Home directed arrangements.
