Frank Kittredge believes that experience is the most important thing an insurance agency can offer its clients. Prior to founding Kittredge Insurance Agency in Northborough 24 years ago, he worked for major insurance companies as both a sales agent and claims adjuster. Experience, he said, gives him great insight when dealing with insurance carriers.

"Not all insurance companies are created equal," Kittredge said. "I deal with the ones that will service our clients at a very high level. In addition to the service aspect, we want to make sure that our carriers are financially capable to service our clients quickly and completely in the event of a loss."

Kittredge Insurance deals with the leading regional and national carriers, all of which carry the insurance industry's coveted "A" rating.

According to Kittredge, insurance is not a cookiecutter product that can be ordered over the phone.

"Our main mission is to provide our clients with the insurance coverage that best meets their needs," he said. "Most of our employees are licensed Massachusetts insurance brokers, and six of them hold the distinction of having earned the designation of Certified Insurance Councilor. This level of training and product knowledge ensures that they will help our clients make informed choices."

Client service is another area where Kittredge Insurance works to separate itself from competitors.

"In light of all the changes in the auto insurance industry, it's an opportunity for our agency to really shine," he said. "We have been carefully reviewing the offerings in the marketplace, and we can off er our clients solid coverage while taking advantage of all the savings available. Kittredge is grateful for the support he has received from the local community over the past 24 years. His sales staff also lives locally, with Jon Lien and Susan Healy in Northborough and Ann DeBiasio and Chet Piskadlo in Shrewsbury. Whenever possible, he has tried to give back by supporting local causes including the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce annual fund-raisers.
