Chamber of Commerce focuses on education

Region - Twenty-five high school students were honored as Corridor Nine (C9) Chamber of Commerce's 2008 Scholastic Award Recipients at a March 27 Membership Breakfast at the Doubletree Hotel in Westborough.

Scholarship recipients from Algonquin Regional High School included Jillian Cirelli, Meghan Doyle, Siera Lamontagne, Adam Lapetina, Ross Lapetina, Alexis Morin, Karissa O'Keefe, Patrick Rutan and Sarah Sheehy. From Shrewsbury High were Linda Chen, Catherine Hewlett, Minh Le, Carolyn McRae, Mary Rocheleau, Wajida Syed and Sushmitha Rejeevan. From Westborough High were Steff ani Arraya, John Birkholz, Eric Chang, Caitlin DeFiore, Sarah Gemski, Colleen Hoyt and Adam Ridley. Also honored were St. John's High School's Roderick Geer and Assabet Valley Regional's Joanne Osborne.

In addition, the C9 School/Business Partnership Committee recognized David Bagdon, publisher of the Community Advocate; Mike Rooney, CFO of Central One Federal Credit Union; and April Healey, vice president at Central One, with their Champion of Education Award for their contributions to education.
