Veterans thank community for donations
To Marlborough and area residents,

Please find enclosed in this letter our sincere thanks for the usual generosity of donations during our recent annual "Forget me not" campaign. The money collected enabled us to continue our sixty years of serving area veterans and their families in war and peace.

As the recent highly acclaimed PBS documentary "The War" reminded us … the home front of today is as important to our troops abroad as it was to their grandparents in the Second World War. Now that we are again in international conflicts, the need is greater than ever. Always remember that the donations received are given 100 percent directly to veterans and their families as enabled by our many members who helped to collect them, some of which have been soliciting and volunteering since our founding in 1947.

We extend our greatest thanks to those who donated and volunteered, and the area businesses that have supported us these many years. Furthermore, the support and donations during Marlborough's annual Labor Day parade, as made possible by volunteers from local teachers, students, Boy Scouts and local military organizations, are greatly appreciated. Please help keep the home front going and our young service men and women in your thoughts daily.
