A vote of confidence
Shrewsbury - If apathy is indeed the enemy of democracy, it would stand to reason that highly contested political races are a good barometer of a community's political health. It's truly encouraging to see candidates come out in force to lend their voices to the political process. Whether we agree with their views or not, the candidates are the ones who take the ball from the voters and run with it. Based on the ballot for its May 6 election, which features seven candidates competing for two Board of Selectmen seats, the political process is alive and well in the town of Shrewsbury.
