Charter school to hold yard sale, appraisal fund-raiser

Marlborough - The Advanced Math and Science Academy (AMSA) Charter School in Marlborough, located at 201 Forest St., will be holding its first annual "Bargain Bonanza Yard Sale" and Charity Appraisal Event Saturday April 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Area residents are encouraged to clean out their overflowing closets, cramped basements and cluttered garages, as well as to dust off collectibles, memorabilia and other unique items and to bring them to donate for a charity sale or find out just how much they're worth.

There will be vintage items, household goods, books, toys and the usual yard sale items, along with special opportunities and items at a 25 percent to 50 percent discount from its retail value, including event tickets, museum admissions, food, mini-golf and other great items.

Donations are tax deductible and still being accepted; contact Carol Sullivan at 062792@comcast.net.

The Charity Appraisal Event will feature appraisals of antiques and collectibles by appraiser Gary Sohmers, of the PBS television program "Antiques Roadshow." Sohmers will appraise items for a suggested $5 donation to AMSA from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the AMSA Charter School Foundation. Profits will go toward funding the AMSA Charter School.
