Daniel T. Colella, 71

Marlborough - Daniel T. Colella, 71, died at home Tuesday, April 8, 2008 after being stricken ill.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Nancy (Hough) Colella, and his children, Daniel Colella Jr. and his wife, Patricia; Darlene Cloonan and her husband, James; Janice Gorgone and her husband, Robert; and Peter Colella and his wife, Amy. He also leaves his siblings, Mary Tempesta, Catherine Esperian, Steven Colella, Theresa Begeman, Joseph Colella and Christine Murphy; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Newton, the son of Guisippe and Loreta (Papnano) Colella, he had lived in Marlborough for the past 44 years.

Mr. Colella was a construction foreman for over 20 years with the former Walsh Brothers Construction Co. of Cambridge, until his retirement in 1988. Previously, he was a baker for many years at the former Mazzolas Bakery in Newton. He was a life member of Local 151 of the Laborers Union in Cambridge.

Private funeral services and burial were planned at the convenience of the family. The John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
