Intel awards grant to local State Scholar school

Intel recently gave a $2,700 grant to benefit the school's State Scholars initiative, which recognizes schools that offer a challenging curriculum, have active business partnerships, and have articulation agreements with local two- and four-year colleges. Students must sign a contract agreeing to take the required amount of core curriculum courses in lieu of other electives. To reward these students, AVRTHS offers incentives such as mini-conferences at the school, guest speakers and a small token gift at graduation.
