Tykes bike for a cause
Shrewsbury - Jack Combs, 5, Lucy Combs, 7, Alex Lapierre, 10, and Connor Lyons, 5, prepare to begin a "trike-athon" April 21 to benefit Children's Miracle Network. The event was organized by Holly Richardson of Shrewsbury after her 5-year-old son, Christopher, was inspired by a similar event he saw on television.

Friends and neighbors gathered pledges for the children and they rode "laps" around the neighborhood. Holly expected the donations to reach approximately $1,000, which will go directly to Children's Hospital in Boston to fund activities for children during their stays at the hospital. About 20 children participated in the event.
