Arts Alliance off ers workshop to write, stage own play Hudson - This summer, the Arts Alliance is offering a special workshop called Stage Two for children entering grades one through five to write and stage their own play. From Monday July 28 until Friday Aug. 8, students will meet weekday mornings at Hudson High School to sample all aspects of theater. The workshop will be led by Sarah Worrest, Nan Kaipainen Gibbons and Madeleine Gibbons. Participants will practice both writing and acting skills as they collaboratively adapt a story to produce their own play. They will also learn about costume and set design while staging the play they develop under the guidance of the three teachers. Stage Two was first developed in 2002 by Sarah Worrest, who has directed such shows for the Arts Alliance as "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "State Fair," "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and Little Theater for three years. The New York University graduate has performed in dozens of shows both locally and in New York City. This summer drama workshop meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $215. It is one of eight different programs offered to students entering grades 1 through 13 by the Arts Alliance, which is celebrating 20 years of providing theater educational experiences to area youth.
