Shirley T. Kapetanopoulos, 82

Marlborough - Shirley T. (Christensen) Kapetanopoulos, 82, died peacefully Monday, April 21, 2008 at Marlborough Hospital after an illness. She was the wife of the late Peter Kapetanopoulos, who died in 1997.

She leaves her daughter, Marcia Goggin and her husband, Thomas Donahue; her sisters, Eleanor Marsden and Eunice Fossum; her granddaughters, Tracy Stanick and Rachael Kane; and nieces and nephews, especially Ivy Gram and her children, Hillary and Jeremy.

Born in Marlborough, the daughter of Arnold and Astrid (Hansen) Christensen, she was a 1942 graduate of Marlborough High School and a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Kapetanopoulos was an assembler for over 10 years at Digital Equipment in Marlborough until her retirement in 1987. Previously, she worked at Jordan Marsh in Framingham as a floor manager and supervisor for over 30 years. She was a very active member of the First Church Congregational of Marlborough.

Mrs. Kapetanopoulos' gifts were many, but most of all, she loved to send cards and adorn the envelopes with stickers for all occasions and, at times, just because she thought you may need a lift. Her joys were her family and church family. She will be missed, but always remembered for her generous and kind ways.

Funeral services were held April 26 from the John P. Rowe Funeral of Marlborough. Memorial donations may be made to the Woman's Fellowship at the First Church, 37 High St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
