High school introduces music conversion service

Marlborough - If you have music or sound in a format that is no longer state-ofthe art, the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School's Music Lab can help you preserve it.

The AVRTHS Business Technology Department, as part of the marketing curriculum, has opened a business that will take sound from any audio source - including cassettes, vinyl records, DVDs and VHS tapes - and convert that sound to a brand new CD or move it directly to an MP3 player.

The possibilities go beyond simply commercial music applications; an old cassette with your baby's first words or the kindergarten musical with your child's solo can also be converted to a more user-friendly format at the AVRTHS Music Lab.

The fee is only $5 to go directly to an MP3 player and $7 for a CD.

For more information, contact Joe Dalton, business technology instructor, at 508-485-9430, ext. 233, or via e-mail at jdalton@ assabet.org.
