Voters take another swing at Proposition 2-1/2 override
Shrewsbury - On Tuesday May 6, the Shrewsbury School Committee will be asking voters for a Proposition 2-1/2 override to fund the proposed school budget. This marks the fourth time in five years that the request has been made; while last year's attempt was just narrowly defeated, the two previous votes were a resounding "no."
If the $1.5 million override passes, $500,000 will be allocated to reducing or eliminating activity, athletic and transportation fees. Passage of the override is also projected to save nine teaching jobs.
