Ward 5 voters pick Seymour
By Angela Greiner Community Reporter

Marlborough- After a long day of voters stopping by the city's Ward 5 polling stations May 6, residents elected School Committee member Robert Seymour to the ward's City Council seat, beating John deBairos, 246-90. The two polling stations, one at the Masonic Lodge on Newton Street and one at the Senior Center on Main Street, were open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the approximately 2,500 registered voters in the ward.

The contested City Council seat has been open since November 2007, after newly elected Ward 5 Councilor Maura Navin Webster resigned to take a position with the American Heart Association.
