Bethel J. Haley, 81

Westborough - Bethel J. "Beth" Haley, 81, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John Haley, who died in 2003.

She leaves her son, John Haley Jr.; her daughter, Kathe Bowman; her sister, Shirley Warren; her grandson, Shawn Bowman; and her great-granddaughter, Cassidy Brown.

Born on September 20, 1926 in Westborough, the daughter of Harry and Daisy (Wallace) Parker, she was the eighth of nine children. She attended Westborough schools and also attended Kendall Catering School.

Mrs. Haley was employed as an order picker for Shakour's. She also worked at Bay State in the office and, in the 1970s, was the owner of the family business, Triple H Services, where she did catering, typing and cleaning.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough, and was involved for many years in St. Luke's CYC. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She loved to cook and always had homemade treats for anyone that visited, and her family always looked forward to her homemade desserts after dinner.

A funeral mass was celebrated May 5 from St. Luke the Evangelist Church, with burial at St. Luke's Cemetery. The Britton-Summers Funeral Home directed arrangements.
