Henry J. Mulcahy Jr., 62 Marlborough - Henry "Hawk" J. Mulcahy Jr., 62, died at home Wednesday, April 30, 2008 surrounded by his family. He leaves his sisters, Delma Josephson, Maureen Mulcahy and Cheryl McAuliff e; his brother, John Manning; and 11 nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, the son of Delma (Hiltz) Mulcahy Manning, he was very proud to have been raised at the Stetson Home for Boys in Barre, where he lived in the 1950s. He was a U.S Army veteran and also served for over 22 years in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts at the 26th S&T, Yankee Division in Framingham. Mr. Mulcahy drove trucks and operated heavy equipment for several local businesses. He was a life member of the ITAM War Veterans Post 45 of Marlborough, where he was acting Sergeant at Arms and former Officer of the Day. In addition, he was a life member of AMVETS Post 1980 and the American Legion Akroyd Houde Post 132, both of Marlborough, as well as a member of Loyal Order of Moose No. 1129 of Marlborough and the current Sergeant at Arms for the Marlborough Veterans Council. He was well known and honored for his many years of service and dedication to his fellow comrades. He enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch and cribbage, and for the past several years maintained all the flags flown on every bridge and overpass in the city of Marlborough. Funeral services were held May 3 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
