Georgia Mills
And they can even get curtains to match. Georgia Mills has two sections: the carpet and flooring department, and the windows, curtains and accessories department, Carpet and Flooring Sales Manager Ray Rogers said. "In the floor covering industry, we do it all," he said. "If it's for floors, we do it. Carpet, vinyl, ceramic, laminate [and] hardwood, and we sell and install everything we have." Georgia Mills is a familyowned business that has been in Worcester for over 20 years, Rogers said. With many repeat customers and referrals, the store prides itself on superior customer service. "We send a gift package to every customer that we install a floor for as a followup, and send a rating card with it. We really focus to make sure the customer's happy," Rogers said. "We bend over backwards to meet deadlines." In addition, Georgia Mills offers free in-home estimates and doesn't rely on gimmicks for its pricing to remain competitive, Rogers said. "What really matters is the bottom line price … the total price you're getting for the job that we're doing, and the value and also the expert installation," he said. As demand for diff erent products changes, Georgia Mills stays ahead of the curve, off ering the top brands and quality selection needed to suit any home and taste. "People are using diff erent products now," Rogers said. "They're using more laminate flooring, more ceramic tile, and things like that as opposed to just carpet. So the needs have changed." In the curtain department, Georgia Mills has an excellent selection, Rogers said. Since the options are always expanding, many customers come back year after year to update the look of their homes. The newest aspect of Georgia Mills is its online sales. The website at www.georgiamillscarpet. com details the extensive list of products the store off ers, allowing customers to research products before they come in. Many customers are also referred to Georgia Mills from top providers such as Shaw Carpet. Rogers, who has been in the floor covering industry for 30 years, loves his work because of the variety it provides. "One thing about this business that makes it interesting is that you still do a job and run into something diff erent that you've never seen," he said. "Every type of building is so diff erent. So it's interesting: nothing's ever the same twice." At the same time, he enjoys getting to know repeat customers on a first-name basis. His dog, Simba, loves coming to work too. "He works every day," Rogers joked. "And the kids love him." Georgia Mills stays involved with the local community, sponsoring Little League teams and frequently making donations to community organizations. Its service area extends to all of Worcester County, Rogers said. Georgia Mills is located at 1217 Grafton Street, Worcester. The phone number is 508-791-3555.
