Shrewsbury - Andrew ("Andy") MacIsaac has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen. MacIsaac graduated from Assumption College in Worcester in 1991 and received a master's degree from Harvard University in 2001. He has been married to Patricia (Dumphy) MacIsaac, a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, since 1993 and they have a 6-year-old son.

Andy is a founding member of the Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR), which has successfully supported the town of Shrewsbury in coordinating emergency heating fuel deliveries to families in crisis.

He has been employed at IBM as a marketing professional for 14 years and currently holds the position of senior marketing manager for state and local governments.

"Being able to work and talk to local government officials directly, I have the opportunity to learn about how many communities, who face the same challenges we have in Shrewsbury, have used innovation to transform their communities and build for the future," he said. "From this experience, I can implement within our government a comprehensive perspective on collaborative solutions, sustainable development, and the innovative deployment of technology to drive more efficiency, openness, collaboration, effectiveness and accountability for results.

"Through numerous personal and professional experiences, I have a tremendous appreciation for how important community involvement is to solving community issues."
