'Water Wise Workshops' offered to youth
Region - Join the Organization for the Assabet River (OAR) for Water Wise Workshops. Each summer, OAR offers a series of six free, fun and informative workshops that allow youth to explore the world around them and become more educated about environmental issues. Through demonstrations, hands-on activities, group discussions and interactions with plants and wildlife, the participants are encouraged to look closer at their own relationships with the environment and build on their knowledge of the natural world. The participants will also discover how they can be part of environmental solutions in their own backyards! The workshops are for youth ages 6 to 12 and run from the week of July 7 through the week of Aug. 11. They are held weekly from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at each location: Tuesdays in Marlborough (Fort Meadow Reservoir), Wednesdays in Westborough (Lake Chauncy) and Fridays in Stow (Lake Boon). Directions are online at www.assabetriver. org. The Water Wise Workshops are free and open to the public.
