Wayside Racquet & Swim Club hosts annual 'Run for Fun'

Marlborough - Marlborough High School graduate Jason Anick stands beside Wayside's General Manager and "Run for Fun" Organizer Darren McLaughlin at the annual 5k race June 24. Anick opened the event by playing the National Anthem on his electric violin.

 

The event was the club's 15th annual Run for Fun, with proceeds going to the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce's Scholarship Fund, which awards five $1,000 scholarships to area students.

This year's winner, Chris Green, crosses the finish line.

More than 200 runners participated in this year's "Run for Fun" June 24.

Andrea and Ken Mercier wait for the 5k race start.  Ken has been a marathon runner for 30 years, and has participated in the “Run for Fun” on and off for the past 10 years.
