Local resident graduates from basic training

Region - Army Pvt. Ashley K. Shea has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, physical fitness, tradition and core values, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, drill and ceremony, marksmanship, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy and military justice system, among other topics.

She is the daughter of Keith and Elaine Shea of Northborough and a 2003 graduate of Marlborough High School.
