Westborough High School’s Center Stage Presents “Splendor in the Grass”

Westborough High School’s Center Stage announces their fall production, “Splendor in the Grass,” the classic psychodrama by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright William Inge.  Performances are Nov. 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets available at the door: $10. Coolidge Elementary School Fall Vendor Fair




The Coolidge Elementary School, 1 Florence St., Shrewsbury, will be holding a Fall Vendor Fair from 6-8:30 p.m., featuring vendors; hand-crafted hats; jewelry; and Longaberger baskets, pottery and wrought iron. Big Read Film Celebration - “Allegheny Uprising”

The Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St., is sponsoring a film festival in conjunction with The Big Read celebration. Seven films dealing with war will be shown over seven Friday evenings at the library. The first film, “Allegheny Uprising,” will be shown at 7 p.m. “Allegheny Uprising” is a family-oriented 1939 film, starring John Wayne and Claire Trevor, that deals with the American Revolution. SHS Electronics Fund-Raiser

Got an old computer that you need to get rid of? How about that broken microwave taking up space in the garage, or the assortment of old cell phones scattered in drawers around the house? You can get rid of it all – and help support the fledging girls ice hockey team at Shrewsbury High School – during an electronics recycling event from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Shrewsbury High School upper parking lot. Disposal fees range from as little as fifty-cents for a cell phone, to $100 for refrigerators. However, most items are in the $10-$20 range. The fees are tax-deductible. Westborough Woman’s Club Meeting

The Westborough Woman's Club Nov. 10 meeting will focus on “Improving Your Health and Well Being Through Exercise.” Karen Isgur, personal trainer at Fitness Together, will have the attendees doing basic exercises that can be done at home, along with an education piece on the impact of exercise on specific conditions. Master Singers of Worcester Hold Boar’s Head Festival Rehearsal

The Master Singers of Worcester invites singers to attend its first open rehearsal, held at First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, for the Dec. 12 Boar’s Head Festival. All voice parts are being sought, especially basses and tenors. Students Together Opposing Prejudice (S.T.O.P.) announces a new program educating young people on how to identify and confront stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination.
