Local communities to hold Scouting for Food Drive

PHOTO/SUBMITTED Region - Scouts in local communities will be distributing plastic bags to households Saturday Nov. 7 and Sunday Nov. 8 in preparation for the nationwide Scouting for Food Drive the following weekend. Pick-ups will start at 9 a.m. Saturday Nov. 14; please make sure your bag(s) are outside your front door or by your mailbox and visible from the street by 9 a.m.

The Northborough Food Pantry is in particular need of juices boxes, juice (family size – canned concentrate or plastic bottles), cereal, jelly and peanut butter, healthy snacks (crackers, granola bars, pudding, fruit cups), toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, boxed meals such as taco kits and Hamburger Helper, microwavable meals, coffee (ground and instant) and mayonnaise.

The Marlborough Food Pantry is in need of canned vegetables, dry goods (cereals, rice and pasta), canned sauces, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa, infant items and toiletries.

The Hudson Food Pantry is in need of canned soups, canned meats, canned vegetables, canned pasta, peanut butter, jelly, rice, stew, baked beans, Jell-O products, canned fruit, baby food, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant and personal care products. Please no homemade food.
