Who’s on track?
     Westborough – Does the town properly prepare its students, both academically and socially, for heading to college? To answer that question, parent Judy Martin has volunteered to track 100 Class of 2009 students for the next five years. She will use e-mail to keep in touch with the graduates, who all signed up to be part of the program and agreed to let Martin know how they are faring.

Trivia bee to raise money for Westborough schools

     Westborough - What’s the capital of Tanzania? You could find out at the third annual Trivia Bee Monday Nov. 9. Or, if you are a sixth-grader at Mill Pond Intermediate School, you could find out in the annual Africa United Day event in which students on the Firefly Team each report on a particular country and present their knowledge to the community.

Woman’s Club November meeting to focus on health
      Westborough - The Westborough Woman’s Club meeting Tuesday Nov. 10 will focus on “Improving Your Health and Well Being Through Exercise.” Karen Isgur, personal trainer at Fitness Together, will have the attendees doing basic exercises that can be done at home, along with an educational piece on the impact of exercise on specific conditions.

Selectmen award contract for pump station rehab

      Westborough – The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the award of the contract for the rehabilitation of the Longmeadow Sewer Pump Station at its Oct. 27 meeting. The bid was awarded to Delray Contracting Inc., of Ellington, Conn., which submitted a low bid of $542,666.
