      Westborough - For the second time in as many years, two English teachers from Gibbons Middle School visited the Center for Teaching and Learning in Edgecomb, Maine, to learn more about using workshop methods in the classroom.

School Committee considers raising kindergarten fee
     Westborough – The school district presented a proposal to the School Committee at its Nov. 4 meeting that would raise full-day kindergarten fees in town $200 per child – about 7 percent – from $2,800 a year to $3,000 a year.

Something to sing about
     Shrewsbury - Students at Beal Early Childhood Center participate in this school year’s first monthly Sing- Along, held Oct. 23, when family members join students to sing their favorite songs with lyrics projected on a screen. Some children can read the words and others are learning as they watch a pointer follow along.

Library off ers math tutoring sessions
      Northborough – The Northborough Public Library now off ers free drop-in math tutoring for students in seventh- and eighth-grade algebra. The sessions, taught by a U.S. Presidential Award-winning student at Algonquin Regional High School, will run Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from now through December in the conference room at the library.
