In the midst of autumn, Hudson High School’s Theatre Department is offering a bit of summer fun with “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” performed at 7:30 p.m. at 69 Brigham St., Hudson. Hudson Historical Society Hosts Local Author

Former Hudson resident Barbara Moran, whose non-fiction book, “The Day We Lost the H-Bomb: Cold War; Hot Nukes and the Worst Nuclear Weapons Disaster in History,” about an Air Force bomber explosion 43 years ago was chosen by Amazon.com as a “Best Book of the Month,” will be guest speaker at the Hudson Historical Society’s 7:30 p.m. meeting at First Federated Church Hall, 200 Central St. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

 

Shrewsbury Public Library Hosts Rockie Blunt Jr.

Shrewsbury’s Roscoe C. “Rockie” Blunt Jr. is one of the 12 Americans featured in “WWII in HD,” the 10-hour documentary which began Nov. 15 on The History Channel. He will be at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St., at 7 p.m. to discuss his experiences in the war and the filming of the documentary. Marlborough Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group Meeting

The 7th annual Hudson Downtown Holiday Stroll will take place Dec. 4, from 4-10 p.m. The event features Santa and his elves, food, music, horse drawn hayrides, an animal exhibit, and fun for all ages throughout downtown Hudson. Walk with Green Marlborough

Enjoy walking the trails of Marlborough in the company of a guided group the first Saturday of each month. The next 2-mile walk is Dec. 5, starting at 9 a.m., on the Bay Circuit Trail, half in Marlborough and half in Southborough. This forest trail parallels Sudbury Reservoir and is wide and easy. Students Together Opposing Prejudice (S.T.O.P.) announces a new program educating young people on how to identify and confront stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination. The Couples Project for Women

CPW offers free treatment for women with alcohol dependence who are married or live with a male partner. Weekly one-on-one outpatient therapy for 5 to 6 months promotes women’s recovery. Some women also receive couples counseling to promote recovery and improve communication. The study is conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School and AdCare Hospital.
