After college, both Jamie and Sandi went on to build successful careers as pharmacists and they also shared an interest in owning their own business. At one point Sandi began working a part-time job at a jewelry store and eventually the couple decided that was the type of business they wanted to create for themselves.

“We opened Southborough Jewelers in 2000 and we’ve been going strong ever since,” Jamie said. “We’re a full-service jeweler and have something here for everyone.” Many of their customers are women coming in to purchase fashion jewelry pieces for themselves, and Southborough Jewelers’ knowledgeable staff provides help for customers who come in and may not be sure exactly what they are looking for.

“We have very affordable sterling silver jewelry as well as higher-end pieces and we are happy to help customers find just the right thing within their budget,” Jamie said.

Jamie had been the pharmacy manager at Southborough Medical Group for years and had made many friends in town, so when the couple found that space was available just off Route 9 in Southborough, they knew it was the perfect location for them. Jamie does some repair work and the store also has a goldsmith for full jewelry repair services. Interestingly, Jamie learned some of the skills he uses as a jeweler when he was a child. “My dad has repaired clocks and watches since I was a kid,” he said. “I’ve taken some old skills that my dad taught me and applied them to new situations in our business.”

Jamie and Sandi can be found at the store every day the store is open for business and Southborough Jewelers’ professional and friendly staff of seven is also on hand to assist customers with whatever they are looking for. Some of the jewelry brands the store carries are Pandora, Hearts on Fire - The World’s Most Perfectly Cut Diamond, Andrea Candela, Ed Levin, Frederic Duclos, Lorenzo, Citizen Watches, Rembrandt charms, Elle fashion jewelry, Kimmeron, and the store is pleased to support local artists with designs by Tom Kruskal and Betsy Frost, both of Massachusetts, and MaryJane Doubleday from Maine. In addition, Southborough Jewelers off ers a bridal line, watch battery changes while you wait and free jewelry cleaning, professional jewelry appraisals, and they will buy silver and gold. They pointed out that it is a good idea to have rings cleaned and inspected frequently as prongs may wear to a point that the gemstones can fall out of the setting. Stopping in for this free service may prevent the loss of your diamond.

“We take pride in helping people celebrate life’s special occasions by off ering a great selection of quality jewelry and friendly, personalized service. We love helping our customers find the perfect gift or that special item to add to their own jewelry collection,” Jamie said. “One of the things we love about our business is the people we meet. We’ve met hundreds and hundreds of people and have made life-long friends here.” Southborough Jewelers is located at 162 Cordaville Road, Southborough.
