Despite condition, state to get its cut

Westborough – The Board of Selectmen recently approved Town Manager Jim Malloy’s request to begin the process to sell the historic Nathan Fisher House, currently valued at about $600,000. Because of state legislation passed last summer, however, half of whatever the town makes on the sale of the building will go into the commonwealth’s coff ers. Prospective buyers should be advised, though, the Massachusetts Historical Commission has placed preservations restrictions on the home that specifically stipulate what the purchaser must do to preserve the unique historical appearance of the structure.
